Back at the dawn of time (the late 70’s), I was a kid who sat glued to the TV on Sunday afternoon, eagerly waiting for the next episode of Space1999. And it was AWESOME! This was a great show created by Gerry & Sylvia Anderson, who previously developed mainly sci-fi marionette TV shows such as ‘Thunderbirds’. The show featured the incredible Martin Landau, great design and special effects, and was VERY 70’s. I guess it was the closest the U.K. got to it’s own TV ‘Star Trek’. If you’re not familiar with the premise of the show: after a large nuclear explosion, the moon is torn out of earth orbit and drifts through space while the moonbase inhabitants fight for survival.
