Frankenstein, Mary Shelley (1818). Conceptual cover designs for the gothic science fiction classic: A cautionary tale about the dangers of science. Obsessed with discovering the secrets of organic life, and bestowing animation upon lifeless flesh, Frankenstein assembles a human being from stolen body parts, but upon bringing it to life he recoils in horror at the creature's hideousness. Tormented by isolation, loneliness and the denial of it’s humanity by it’s creator, the once-innocent creature unleashes a campaign of murderous revenge.
