20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Jules Verne (1869). Conceptual cover design and sleeve for the sci-fi classic: A large monster is roaming the seas, destroying over 200 ships. A distinguished marine biologist has set his sights on killing this gigantic creature. He and his faithful assistant join an expedition aboard an American frigate. The monster is sited and a battle ensues, resulting in the men being tossed overboard and rescued by Nemo, captain of the Nautilus. For ten months, the three men sail with Nemo, discovering new sea creatures and lost cities.
